TCMF Songwriting Contest Rules:
Contest is open to anyone who considers themselves to be
amateur or professional songwriters.
Categories: 1) One fully completed entry form (photocopy is acceptable) Entries must be postmarked by June 30, 2010 There will be NO duplicate winners in a single category. The Traditional Country Music Foundation Songwriting Contest is NOT responsible for late, lost, damaged misdirected, insufficient postage, stolen or misappropriated entries. All songs remain the sole and separate property of the author(s). Enter one or more of the following categories: Please note!!! Signature on entry forms constitutes each song submitted is an original work and releases the Traditional Country Music Foundation Songwriting Contest and sponsors from all liability. Entry also constitutes permission to use winner’s names and likeness for future advertising and publicity without compensation. The costs of getting the CD’s and lyrics copied and mailed to the judges and back to us has increased greatly. We will be keeping Fifteen (15%) off the top to help with those expenses.
PRIZES: First prize in each category will be based on the number of entries per category. Forty five (45%) of prize money will be awarded to the first place winner. If it will be easier for you, you may send your song(s) by way of email in an mp3, you may also send your lyric sheets (word pad only) or copied and pasted to the email with that song. Two (2) one with name and info on one and the other one no name or info. But when you send your songs on emails ...make sure you have all the required info in the email body per each song. Send only 1 song per email with all the information. You may also send your picture via email, with your song...make sure your info is included so we know who you are and with what song(s)

Submissions:
Send the following with an entry form. One (1) song per entry form.
Signature must be original per each copy.
2) You may put all of your songs on 1 CD or tape
Just make sure you have them listed in order you have them on the CD DO NOT put paper labels on the CD’s or tape anything to the CD, I had a LOT of problems
with those last year. Use permanent CD markers ONLY
3) Two (2) typed or legibly printed lyric sheets per song (leave your name and all info off of 1 lyric sheet) so I can make clean copied for the judges. After I make copies, it will be stapled to the one with the info in tact!
4) Check or Money Order for $20.00 (US currency) per each song, payable to the
TCMF SONGWRITING CONTEST
PLEASE DO NOT SEND CASH!
5) PRINT DIRECTLY ON THE CD (if mailing) THE FOLLOWING: CONTESTANTS NAME, PHONE NUMBER, EMAIL, CATEGORY, SONG TITLE , AMATEUR OR PROFESSIONAL AND CO-AUTHORS NAME(S) WHERE APPLICABLE. TAPES MUST BE CUED.
6) CD’s and lyric’s WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
7) No one will receive personal notification of receipt of an entry.

Winners will be notified by Sept 30, 2010 (it takes time to get all the songs to CD‘s, and copied and mailed to all the judges, and for the judges to take time to listen and judge fairly.
All entries must be the original work of each contestant. Contestants may enter as many songs and categories as he or she wishes. However, each song constitutes a separate entry and must have it’s own entry form, lyric sheets and recorded CD or cassette. Check or Money Order must reflect the total number of songs submitted. All can be on one check, or money order

Entries will be judged by a panel of record label, A&R (Artist and Repertoire) executives, professional songwriters, music publishers, talent scouts, and performing artists, music critic‘s, CD reviewers, record producers. All songs will be judged on originality, lyric content, melody, and the songs over all commercial potential.
All decisions by the judges will be final. Finalists will be determined and notified on or before August 31, 2010
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. All prizes will be awarded to the name on the entry form. Division of prizes among co-authors is the responsibility of the winners. Taxes are the responsibility of the winners. All Federal, State and Local laws and regulations apply.
Prize money will vary according to
the number of entrants per category.
Second prize in each category will be based on the number of entries per category. Twenty five (25%) of prize money will be awarded to the second place winner.
Third prize in each category will be based on the number of entries per category. Fifteen (15%) of prize money will be awarded to the third place winner
